Exercise Stress Test

An exercise ECG is a test where your heart rhythm during is monitored during exercise on a treadmill.

Although it is more commonly used to investigate chest pain, coronary disease and shortness of breath, this can be used to induce the abnormal heart rhythm in patients with exercise-induced palpitations. The test takes about 20-30 minutes. It is advisable to avoid a heavy meal prior to the test and to wear comfortable clothing and running shoes for the test.
