Dr Rajeev Pathak shared impressive results from two innovative ablation procedures leading to good patient outcomes at the Cardiac society of Australia and New Zealand Annual meeting:
Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) are extra heartbeats that begin in one of the heart’s two lower pumping chambers (ventricles). PVCs have been shown as potentially causing or contributing to cardiomyopathy and heart failure. At the recent CSANZ 2021 annual scientific meeting, Dr Rajeev Pathak presented two VT (ventricular tachycardia) ablations that he performed in Canberra to treat PVCs. These ablations were complex and technical but both procedures had good outcomes. Dr Pathak fielded many technical questions from other electrophysiologists and led an educational and informative discussion that will benefit other patients requiring complex VT ablations. Congratulations to Dr Pathak on this well received presentation. Dr Pathak’s work here in Canberra will benefit not only our patients at CHR but other patients around the world.
